Pro: good food, great service, interesting place, cool room amenities, good for an interesting weekend
The service and food were great. The room itself was kinda gross and there were ants everywhere. We had to call for room service immediately because there was old food in the fridge and tons of ants. Ants got into all of our stuff and generally ruined our vacation. They were even in the towels and pool. Gross! The room was old school and in need of serious updating.
Cons: lots of bugs, unpleasant smell, outdated, bad for special occasions
My wife and I were at Cove Haven this last weekend and couldn’t have had a better time. It was like a second honeymoon for us. Kyle and the staff there did an amazing job. We felt so welcome and enjoyed not only the room but all kinds of activities excluding a great tree lighting ceremony. Keep up the good work we hope to visit again soon.
That being said, it was a neat experience. The room was probably amazing in its prime, and would have been OK if not for all the bugs. There was also an unpleasant, musty smell in the room. Our room had a private pool and dry sauna, as well as a heart shaped jacuzzi and a fireplace. I don't regret my stay, but I'm not sure if I would go back.
My husband and I did enjoy our stay. The room was old looking but nice. They bed was surprising comfortable. The "Stargaze" did not work. We did enjoy all the activity such as mini golf, archery, and the pool was very nice. The food was okay, however breakfast was not the best- so the next morning we went out of town for breakfast. I would definitely suggest going horse back riding which is only 6 mins from the hotel!
Horrible experience here!!! It was recommended by co-workers that went here years ago. The place has gone ridiculously down hill. Long story short... our room filled up with smoke in the middle of the night from the chimney. The receptionist asked me what I wanted her to do about it and told me to pour water on it. I had to fight for another room that wasn't filled with smoke. Oh, and there weren't any batteries in the fire detector!!! Thank God I was awake when the chimney malfunctioned!!
The experience made for a fun, interesting mini-vacation. If it was for a special occasion (like an anniversary or a honeymoon) it would be very disappointing.
My husband and I stayed at Juliet suit. Our room didn't smell like the other reviews and we liked the heart shaped hot tub. The staff were nice and food was better than I expected. It was a little too cold to explore the resort other than our room.
I would not go back, but I don't regret my stay.
